The Executive Committee looks at planning applications and sends in observations, if appropriate. From time to time, there are meetings with officials to discuss wider issues, like the Local Development Plan. Two Perth and Kinross Councillors sit on the Executive Committee, so there is a two-way exchange of information. In addition they collaborate to organize and publicize Trust events and plan new ventures for the Trust like our Blue Plaques project.
Any member of Perth Civic Trust can stand to become a member of the Executive Committee. At each Annual General Meeting, the Membership may elect any Member to be a member of the Executive Committee. A nomination for election to the executive committee is to be in writing (or email), accompanied by the written (or email) consent of the Member so proposed, and is to be in the hands of the Secretary at least seven days before the Annual General Meeting. Should nominations exceed vacancies, there is to be an election. The maximum number of members of the Executive Committee shall be 15.
Members of the Executive Committee shall be elected for a period of three years and shall be eligible for re-election for one further period of three years after which they are not eligible for immediate re-election. The Executive Committee may at any time co-opt any Member to fill a vacancy on the Executive Committee until the next Annual General Meeting.
