Smeaton had built a varied number of projects including harbours and lighthouses such as the Eddystone Lighthouse. The bridge is often called Smeaton&#8217;s Bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bridge opened in 1771.
