March 22, 2011

We are delighted that, following our donation to the St. John's Kirk "Vision for the Future" appeal we are to be given a presentation by the Project Team. Spring Outing

May 4, 2011

This visit is to St. Andrews Botanic Gardens and Balcarres House at Colinburgh in Fife. The original Botanic Gardens dates back to 1889 when it was founded for university teaching and research purposes. In 1960 it moved to the present 7 hectare site at Bassaguard. Bob Mitchell, who is responsible for running the Gardens, will give us a tour.
In the afternoon we visit Balcarres House, the home of the Earl and Countess of Crawford and Balcarres. This is a house of great architectural and artistic merit, famous for its interiors, world-famous library and paintings. We will be given a guided tour of the house by Lady Balniel and a tour of the garden by the Head Gardener, Donald Lamb, or Lady Crawford.
